Biography
When it comes to drummers, JB Allen is the real deal! To see him perform is to feel the passion and energy of a true artist. Born in New Jersey and raised in Toronto, JB has been surrounded by music his entire life. He learned of the greats from his father through his vast record collection and was taught musical discipline by his mother, an accomplished opera singer. It was those influences coupled with his own natural fascination with sound and performance that had JB convinced at an early age that he would have a career in music.
After years of banging out rhythms on anything he could get his hands on, it was at age 12 where JB Allen's musical journey truly began, when his father surprised him with his first drum kit. It wasn't long before he joined the local church band and started forming bands of his own with groups of friends all through his teens. As his hunger deepened, and knowing he wanted more, he decided to venture into event planning and nightclub promotions as a means of breaking into the local entertainment scene.
With this successful approach, and through the connections made, he began partnering with some of Toronto's top DJ's including Wristpect, 4KORNERS and Starting From Scratch to perform at nightclubs, concerts and corporate events. As word of JB's talent and the live musical element he was bringing to the scene began to spread, he earned the opportunity to perform along some of music's most legendary acts including Lil Jon, The Tragically Hip and one of his biggest inspirations, drummer Travis Barker just to name a few.
